Why AgSource Lab:

How healthy is your soil?. Three reasons to get your soil samples analyzed at AgSource Lab :

1.   Soil health tests combine physical, biological, and chemical assessments for a holistic approach to monitoring your soil is extremely urgent.

2. Combining the chemical and physical results from a traditional soil test with a biological assessment of microbial activity, AgSource Laboratories soil health assessment delivers a measurement of a soil’s health and quality.

3. When you understand your soil’s overall health, you can work to unlock the benefits associated with healthier soil.

We’re able to help you to sample your soil and prepare it for shipment and delivery to AgSource Lab. for soil health assessment results with a complete interpretation and recommendation to ensure quality yields and pinpoint potential issues.

NOTE: All Soil Health samples are analyzed for the following: Soil pH, Buffer pH, Excess Carbonate, Soluble Salt, Organic Matter, Phosphorus, Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium Sodium, Nitrate, Sulfur, Zinc, Manganese, Copper, Iron, Boron, Calculated CEC and % of Base Saturation

AgSource lab also uses the same CO2 analyzer (LiCor 840A IRGA) as referenced in the Soil Health Tool 4.7, and the analysis methods are essentially the same, but the lab equipment reflects AgSource lab.

Total Inorganic Carbon analyzes forms like carbonates

Total Nitrogen

Instructions, when sampling for Soil Health:

1.     The area represented in one sample should be fairly uniform.

2.     Sub-samples are combined from areas with similar texture, drainage, slope, and management characteristics.

3.     Sampling to a depth of 6" (0-15 cm) and  10-15 sub-sample cores per soil sample bag will be collected.

4.     If grid sampling, a sub-sample will be collected at several grid points to mix as one Soil Health sample.

We have partnered with AgSource lab (https://agsource.com/soil-testing/) to run a complete set of soil health analyses. Please, contact us.
